Anna

Today, while saving some new photo in my hard drive, I found these pictures taken last year to the beautiful model Anna Cernohorska, and I realized I have not published them! So here I am, making amends, and bringing you to some of the most elegant streets in London. I hope you’ll enjoy it!

Family portrait session – A sweet summer gift

What I love the most of family portrait sessions is that they are always so spontaneous and full of joy that I never feel the need to ask for a smile or wait for an happy face. Everything I should look for is already there, waiting for my eyes and my camera to capture it. Today I have the pleasure to share with you a few photos from a lovely session shot last week, in Oxford. The weather was far from being nice and warm, but in the end love covered the dark clouds!

Last days of winter

“Those slight words and looks and touches are part of the soul’s language; and the finest language, I believe, is chiefly made up of unimposing words, such as “light,” “sound,” “stars,” “music”—words really not worth looking at, or hearing, in themselves, any more than “chips” or “sawdust.” It is only that they happen to be the signs of something unspeakably great and beautiful. I am of opinion that love is a great and beautiful thing too, and if you agree with me, the smallest signs of it will not be chips and sawdust to you: they will rather be like those little words, “light” and “music,” stirring the long-winding fibres of your memory and enriching your present with your most precious past.” George Eliot

From another beautiful collaboration with dancer and model Hanna Lyn Hughes (she is also an amazing make up artist)!

Mirror

“For I do not exist: there exist but the thousands of mirrors that reflect me. With every acquaintance I make, the population of phantoms resembling me increases. Somewhere they live, somewhere they multiply. I alone do not exist.” Vladimir Nabokov

Emma – A play in Oxford

This, for sure, was one of the most exciting experience I had this year, speaking about my photography work! It was such a joy to take photos to the cast of “Emma” (yes, the Jane Austen’s one), a play by Thistledown Theatre. The team who worked on it is great, as all the actors. Don’t miss the show, if you are in Oxford this August! More information about it on the Company’s website: http://www.thistledowntheatre.com.

Similarities

There are similarities between the human heart and what is part of the nature that are only visible to the mind when it stops to think and it starts to feel.

Thanks to Megan for being a great model!

Portrait of Charlotte

“Eppure è bella, anima mia, la vita: non fosse che pei giorni in cui le foglie giocano a quale per la prima spunti sui rami; e tu le vedi, così tenere e trasparenti, che ti s’apron l’ali nel rimirarle. Come puoi del mondo tante cose sapere, e non sapere come fa la fogliuzza a tornar verde entro la scorza, ad affacciarsi, e tutta nova ridere al sol che la richiama?”

A happy family photo shoot

Although I mostly share my personal works in this blog, today I want you to have a look at some of the photos I took last August to a lovely family, here in Oxford. I already had the pleasure to meet them in June, and I must say that working with them is so relaxing and fun that I am looking forward to other commissions like this one. Now enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of the park, the cheerfulness of the children, the love, and the laughs!

In ascolto della terra

“Tu sei come una terra

che nessuno ha mai detto.

Tu non attendi nulla

se non la parola

che sgorgherà dal fondo

come un frutto tra i rami.

C’è un vento che ti giunge.

Cose secche e rimorte

t’ingombrano e vanno nel vento.

Membra e parole antiche.

Tu tremi nell’estate.”

The first winter blossom

These photos patiently waited for some months in a folder of my computer, so now I am extremely happy to share them with you. I have to thank Rosanna, my model: she was a great professional and a brave girl (I remember how cold was that day!), and I also want to thank Oxford, its beautiful parks, the flowers of its fields and the silent grace of its light. It was my first spring in England and I fell in love with it!
