Love come from rescued cats – Margot, Jerry and Monty

“What greater gift than the love of a cat?”, wrote Charles Dickens, and I truly believe it is hard to find something more special than an affectionate cat. Especially rescued cats can share so much love with their owners that you can feel it as soon as you meet them.
This happened also last week, when I visited Kelly and her two beautiful furry children, Margot and Jerry. They have been together for ten years now, and the three have a very special way to communicate to one another. While Margot is curious but a bit cautious, Jerry is more independent and definitively not interested in photography! It was lovely to see them play and at some point fight – in a gentle funny way – together, and follow their human mum even with a simple look, as to say: “we are waiting for you!”.

Monty is an adorable twelve years old cat that Karen lovingly took from the street after he was abandoned from his previous owners. He is a very shy but gentle cat, with beautiful yellow eyes and a total black fur. He loves his human mum very much and he makes this clear kissing her and spending almost his entire day by her side. Unfortunately he was not confident enough in front of the camera to show me his unique way to say: “I love you!”. After all, precious things must be kept a bit secret to remain special.

A huge thanks to Kelly and Karen to share with me these sweet moments!

Trisha + Paul – An intimate wedding in Woodstock

“The fountains mingle with the river
And the rivers with the ocean,
The winds of Heaven mix for ever
With a sweet emotion;
Nothing in the world is single,
All things by a law divine
In one spirit meet and mingle –
Why not I with thine?

See the mountains kiss high Heaven
And the waves clasp one another;
No sister-flower would be forgiven
If it disdained its brother;
And the sunlight clasps the earth,
And the moonbeams kiss the sea –
What are all these kissings worth
If thou kiss not me?” Percy B. Shelley

What a lovely, joyful, cheerful couple I have photographed a few weeks ago on their wedding day! It was a sweet, intimate ceremony celebrated in Woodstock, Oxfordshire, and followed by a small reception and of course a portrait session in the historic part of the town (we could not miss it, also considering how nice those little streets were looking!). No fake poses was the rule of the day, and I could not agree more! True love has not need for forced smiles and bright eyes!

Wedding at Macdonald Randolph Hotel – Jessie + James

My wedding season has started, and I could not ask for a better couple to work with! Jessie and James celebrated their big day last June in the beautiful location of Macdonald Randolph Hotel, in the heart of Oxford, just opposite one of my favorite photography spot: the Ashmolean museum. They had both the ceremony and the reception in the hotel, and every moment I had the honour to photograph was moving and at the same time full of smiles and laughts. It was great to see these beautiful people surrounded by so much love (Jessie’s family came for the occasion from Singapore to England and some of Jame’s friends from Australia!). This is what makes a difference in a wedding, this is what makes my work every time new and every time special.

Thank you, and a very happy life together!

Amanda & Billy – A countryside wedding

Amanda and Billy got married last summer in the lovely village of Wytham (Oxfordshire). I had the pleasure to work and collaborate with Amanda the year before, and I was very happy when she asked me to photograph her wedding, treating me as a friend and really trusting my vision and style! The ceremony, celebrated at All Saints church, was a very heartwarming one, and it was followed by a reception in the Wytham Town Hall. Everything, from the cake to the decorations and the childrens’ games, was handmade (families and friends worked hard on that) and beautiful. Speeches were hilarious, funny and moving. I could not expect anything better from a couple in love! Everytime I photograph a wedding like this, I feel blessed to work with such lovely people. So, thanks again Amanda and Billy, and all the best in life!

Pre-wedding shoot in Abruzzo – Italy

Where should I start from? The glorious University years, the way we grew up, and changed – or maybe not – and became the women we are? Our friendship? I am speaking to you, Antonella, while my eyes are looking back to the room and the house we shared, to the city that we explored together, to the delicatessen of our native regions we enjoyed in front of a tower of books, to the laughs and the tears that filled our Roman memories. We have been friends for such a long time that the day you got married, last August, I was really happy and emotioned! As I was the day we took these photos. Seeing you and Andrea smiling, being excited and thrilled, through the lens of my camera, gave joy to my heart. Added to that, the pleasure to visit the town where you were born and you always spoke about. You are such a beautiful couple, guys, romantic, ironic, spontaneous, and I want to thank you once again for all. Yours was really an amazing wedding, and all the days we spent together made me feel as I was ninetheen again. Keep smiling as in these photographs, and be young, and able to see the happy face of life forever.

Victoria & Vinesh’s wedding

“If I had a flower for every time I thought of you… I could walk through my garden forever.” Aldred Tennyson

This is something Vinesh could have said to his Victoria, among all the other beautiful words that have been shared on their wedding day! They had such a marvelous celebration last June, and I felt honored to be their photographer for the second time. Vinesh and Victoria got officially married last year, and wanted to do a great party for those family members and friends who could not attend the previous civil ceremony. Nothing could be done better! From the location – the amazing Rhodes House – to the table setting and all the little gadget prepared for the fun of their guests, everything was joyful, young and inspiring. Also the speeches – some of which were readings from books – were touching and beautifully romantic. The best I have heard so far! Equally special was the pre-wedding session we obtained the permission to shoot at the Codrington Library of All Souls College (see the photos at the bottom of the post). For a person like me who loves books and historic locations, that was a real moment of happiness. For all these reasons I want to thank again Victoria and Vinesh for letting me be part of one of their best days in life!

Have a look at Cindy and Miguel’s pre-wedding photos! I really loved to work with them, last week, and I want to wish them all the best in life, and of course on their wedding day. Tomorrow they will be husband and wife!

A romantic day trip – Pre wedding photo shoot in Oxford

I had the pleasure to photograph this lovely couple at the beginning of the month. They were going to get married in a few days, and liked the idea to get some pre-wedding photos in Oxford, a city they were looking to explore during a romantic day trip. I could not ask for more, being both a photographer, a guide, and chatting with such great people all in the same morning! I really wish them all the best in life!

Inés & Felix – A colorful and joyful wedding in Oxford

Here I am, finally back, after a long month (oh wow, having a look at the calendar, actually I should say two months!) of editing my clients’ photographs and working on personal projects (lots to come).

Today I want to show you a selection of pictures from Inés and Felix’s wedding. It was really a great day, from the morning when I captured the laughs and the excitement of Inés, her bridesmaids and parents, to the ceremony of course (some sweet tears were dropping down), and to the reception at the Cherwell Boathouse in Oxford. Trees’ leaves were already turning to red and yellow, Inés and Felix surprised everybody arriving to the restaurant by punt and were welcomed by a deluge of pink petals, friends and families coming from all over Europe, a big fabric heart with their name on it, and then cakes, cakes again and English tea. This without mentioning romantic decorations, live music and all that contagious happiness.

Thank you Inés and Felix for letting me be part of it, and again congratulations!

Souvenir of Oxford

I met Thu-Linh and Guillaume for the first time here in Oxford two years ago (writing it down, it sounds really a long time!), a few months after moving to England, and I often worked with them on separated projects (we also shared yummy meals from time to time!). So, I was pretty excited when they asked me to take photos to both of them in the city centre of Oxford. They wanted a last memory of the city to treasure once in the capital, and I could not agree more with their idea. Here is the result of our photo shoot done last July in a very cold morning. Just another little note: Thu-Linh sewed the dress she wore that day, and I think she did a great job! Don’t you?
