Apollineum

Today I want to share with you a selection of images from a fashion photo-shoot done with the very talented and lovely Travis S C-Knight and James Pett, both dancers at the Wayne McGregor Company. It is always a pleasure to work with such nice people and artists, and it was very inspiring, in this case, to play both as a photographer and as a stylist. We had fun, despite the cold of the day, and I think we ended up with some nice photos. But I leave you judge this. I can’t wait to work again with these two! Thank you for all you have beautifully done, guys!

To be silent, to be alone

We are heavy, suffocated by layers of thoughts, fears, regrets. We are cold, despite all those layers; our cheeks are red, our hands are frozen. We are unable to walk, we see the mud and not the lake.

Jump, smile, and have fun

I usually like to think carefully about my photo-shoots before contacting the models and starting to work on them, but the day I decided to take the photos you’ll see below, I said to myself: just have fun and find a way to communicate happiness. The original project wanted a sunny day, but lately, in England, sunny days are so rare that I am wondering: will I take all the photos I want in the next months, should I change my plans for a while, focusing on a different kind of photography? Maybe somehow, like last winter, I will find a way, despite the weather, to exercise my creativity without sacrificing my ideas.

A special thanks to the lovely Silvia Pace, who faced with the cold wind with a big smile!

Made for change

Image

Simona Donadio and Carlotta Redaelli are two young fashion-designer from Meda (Milan) who put hopes and dreams in the organic fabrics and materials, launching a new fashion brand “Made for change”. After graduating at NABA (the New Fine Art Academy of Milan), they decided to open an atelier and to start working on their project. The two friends design and sew the clothes; they use bamboo and cereal fabrics as well as organic wool and cotton both for t-shirts and coats, elegant dresses and accessories. Each material is strictly controlled to guarantee its quality and the dye utilized is low environmental impact. Shop bags are made by recycled paper and, if this is not enough, think that even scrap materials are assembled to realize glamour bracelets.
