Today I want to show you some of the photos taken to the beautiful Laura, a new face from D1Models’ Agency. The time to shoot was limited, still we managed to get a few images I really love. Once at the Barbican centre – a place I like because of its photographic potential – I spent an extra hour admiring its buildings, and found they worked great together with Laura’s portraits. Don’t you think?

Summer is almost over, as are my holidays, so it is time to process the last photographs, and plan new projects! Here are some photos from a test shoot done with the lovely Justyna, just a few weeks before she moved from England to Spain. Wishing her all the best, I leave you with these sweet images!

Just a room, a pretty soul, and a smile

“Youth is happy because it has the capacity to see beauty. Anyone who keeps the ability to see beauty never grows old.” Franz Kafka

From an improvised (due to weather conditions) – but not less enjoyable – test shoot with the beautiful Liana VL.

Last days of winter

“Those slight words and looks and touches are part of the soul’s language; and the finest language, I believe, is chiefly made up of unimposing words, such as “light,” “sound,” “stars,” “music”—words really not worth looking at, or hearing, in themselves, any more than “chips” or “sawdust.” It is only that they happen to be the signs of something unspeakably great and beautiful. I am of opinion that love is a great and beautiful thing too, and if you agree with me, the smallest signs of it will not be chips and sawdust to you: they will rather be like those little words, “light” and “music,” stirring the long-winding fibres of your memory and enriching your present with your most precious past.” George Eliot

From another beautiful collaboration with dancer and model Hanna Lyn Hughes (she is also an amazing make up artist)!

“The night was starless and very dark. Without doubt, in the gloom some mighty angel was standing, with outstretched wings, awaiting the soul.” Victor Hugo

From a collaboration with talented artist and performer Donna Han (she made the paper wing you can see in some of the photos).

Dreams wear white dresses

Dreams wear white dresses and live in old houses with no roof, but sky. There are trees next to the bed where they sleep; plants grow on the wall around which they chase the day that is ending. What they wait is to be free, to walk and run and be seen, being recognized as real.

Hanna – Rhythm and harmony at the Barbican

Hanna Hughes is an amazing contemporary dancer and a very sweet girl. I had an inspiring photo-session with her last month at the Barbican centre, in London. I found beauty in every movement she did, and I loved the way poses blended together with buildings’ lines to compose intriguining images. So thanks again to Hanna and to the fascinating city of London which always helps me to create and to dream of something new!

When I feel restless, when my days run too fast and I have not enough time to dream and to live, I look for a place and a though where everything may return to order. Wherever I find lines, geometries and minimalism, I can start breathing again.

This photo shoot was realised in order to explore the potential – speaking about composition – of a tennis court, as first done last year with my “Tennis court loneliness” series. Thanks a lot to my lovely and talented friend Dovile Ciapaité for helping me to create the photos below!

“I called the world of phenomena an illusion, I called my eyes and my tongue and accident, valueless phenomena. No, that is all over; I have awakened, I have really awakened and have just been born today.” Siddhartha, Hermann Hesse

Thanks a lot to Travis S C-Knight, dancer for Wayne McGregor, who trusted my ideas and used is great talent to work with me on this project!

Ophelia on the grass

“Heaven! Love! Freedom! What a dream, oh poor crazed Girl!
You melted to him as snow does to a fire;
Your great visions strangled your words
– And fearful Infinity terrified your blue eye!”, from Ophelia by Arthur Rimbaud.
